Apollo is committed to delivering mutual success through long term partnerships, where there is shared vision and alignment.

We provide bespoke third-party managing agency services tailored to meet business objectives, leveraging the expertise and capabilities of each party, and maximising the probability of delivering sustainable profits over the long term.

Our strategic partners have access to opportunities not available via a traditional “turnkey” approach, enhancing value and increasing the likelihood of success. This includes access to our existing syndicates, consortia, underwriting expertise, and key Apollo partners.

Apollo’s partners will also benefit from our innovative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial approach to underwriting and our successful track record of establishing and managing syndicates at Lloyd’s.

Our Partners

Apollo is an independent, specialist insurer and reinsurer with a successful track record of establishing and managing multiple syndicates at Lloyd’s.

We collaborate with exciting and innovative businesses looking to enter Lloyd’s. Partnering with Apollo will increase the chance of success, whether that is via a full syndicate, Syndicate in a Box, Special Purpose Arrangement, Captive Syndicate or incubation within another Apollo Syndicate. Apollo can support whatever model works best for your business and is most likely to get Lloyd’s approval.

Our range of solutions

Syndicates are the traditional market facing business units at Lloyd’s. They can be supported by one or more members of Lloyd’s; the members are the insurers for their share of any risk written by the syndicate (separately, not jointly).

A Syndicate in a box (SIAB) is a market facing syndicate that differs from a traditional syndicate.

A SIAB is subject to various restrictions in terms of the business it can underwrite, in addition to reporting requirements, in order to benefit from the lower cost, faster approval, proportionate oversight and reduced reporting requirements.

A Special Purpose Arrangement (SPA) is a Lloyd’s syndicate that acts as a sidecar for an existing Host syndicate, that can only write a single quota share of the Host of the subject business. Both the Host and SPA must be managed by the same managing agent, and are often a first step towards developing a full syndicate or SIAB in the future.

A captive syndicate is a type of Lloyd’s syndicate set up by a group enterprise seeking to retain first or related third party risks.

Where a new business does not have the necessary track record or scale to move straight to a standalone Lloyd’s syndicate, SIAB or SPA, Apollo can offer incubation within one of its existing syndicates to “prove the concept” until the necessary Lloyd’s hurdles have been achieved.
