LONDON: Apollo, the innovation inspired insurance platform, today announces the appointment of Steve Portman as head of energy, effective June 2025. Based in London, Steve will report to Simon Mason, head of marine, energy, and transportation, and will play an essential role in enhancing portfolio growth and market positioning within the energy division.
Steve brings 24 years of experience working in upstream and midstream energy insurance as a broker and underwriter. He joins Apollo from MS Amlin, where he was lead underwriter and was responsible for driving profitable growth in the upstream energy portfolio, whilst growing their leadership position and strengthening market relationships across key accounts. Prior to this, Steve spent 15 years working at various Lloyd’s brokers. He was a director at Thompson Heath & Bond and Howden and has held associate director positions at Willis & Glencairn and a broker role at Miller.
